Custom Systems

Lapeyre Stair's products are designed to be integrated in complete, custom stair systems based on application, size, and material requirements.

Safety Gates for alternating tread stairs are also available.

Platforms

Formed Single Piece Platforms
  • Compatible with alternating tread stairs and steel bolted stair models 01 and 02.
  • Single piece of metal cut and formed to create walking surface, kick plates, and stair mounting plates.
  • Handrails bolt underneath the mounting plates.
  • Ideal for crossover systems, intermediate landings, exit landgings, and equipment access platforms.

ANGLES Handrails are bent to allow the rail of the platform to conform to the rail of the stair. When used with alternating tread stairs, specify the stair angle to ensure a correct fit.

  • Provided for sides without stair mountings.
  • Constructed of the 1½" OD tubing (same as stair handrails.)
  • Connect to platform using provided aluminum clamps.

*Add 8" when calculating stair height for crossover systems to allow clearance for the platform frame.
  • Modular design with drop-in sections allows for a larger platform than single-piece formed platforms.
  • Utilize z-channel framing where the guardrail balusters slide through the frame and attach using provided spacers and bolts.
  • Panels attach to 3” c-channel supports, either parallel with or perpendicular to the framing.
  • Standard design includes handrails that end on the platforms. Integrated handrails are available upon request.
  • Available with either a full baluster or filler panels.

Bracing Kits

  • Designed to maximize stability of crossover systems with stairs up to 8’ tall and platforms up to 8’ long.
  • Includes brackets with stainless steel upper/lower connections plus hardware.
  • Includes custom length tubing in choice of carbon steel, stainless steel, or aluminum.

Bracing kit specifications are based on:

  • Dimensions of obstacles surrounding the crossover system
  • Optimal spread angle (0° to 20° for 56° stairs; 0° to 10° for 68° stairs)
  • Optimal brace angle (20° to 30°)

Legs

  • Leg lengths are computer calculated for pre-engineered custom system configuration.
  • Lapeyre Stair will determine the best solution for non-standard configurations.

  • Constructed out of either 3” or 4” square tubing, depending on strength requirements.
  • Bracing is added to the legs of taller units when additional support is necessary.
  • Specific conditions may require more or less than the standard four leg system.
  • Lapeyre Stair will determine when bracing is needed and the required number of legs.
  • Legs connect to the ⅜” thick bottom base plate with four bolts and to the ¼” thick top base plate on the underside of the platform with three bolts.
  • Legs for multi-level systems/towers can run on the outside of the platform and connect from the side.
